Description

PVP K-90, also known as Povidone K90, is a hygroscopic, amorphous polymer, specifically Polyvinylpyrrolidone, with a K-value between 85-95. It’s a white to milky white powder, soluble in water and various organic solvents, but insoluble in acetone or ether. It forms hard, glossy, transparent films and possesses adhesive and cohesive properties. PVP K-90 is widely used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and various industrial applications.

Other:
PVP K-90 is also used in contact lenses, their packaging solutions, and in wound healing as a component of disinfectants.
Important Notes:
While generally considered safe, some individuals may experience allergic reactions to PVP/Povidone, particularly with subcutaneous or internal applications.
PVP K-90 is sensitive to light and incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
